What this website records, who else sees it, and how to ask us to delete it.

The short version
This website has no login, no shop and no newsletter. We do not sell or rent anything about you, and we run no advertising or remarketing.
Two things happen anyway. Google Analytics counts your visit and sets cookies to do it, and the enquiry form is hosted by another company, so anything you type into it passes through them on the way to us. Both are explained below.
Who we are
Headed North Design Studio is an architecture and interior design practice founded in 2022 and working from Kolkata and Hyderabad. We decide what this website collects and why, which makes us responsible for it.
Ritiman Mukherjee answers questions about this policy. Write to ritiman@headednorth.studio and you will reach him directly, not a queue.
What happens when you browse this site
You do not have to tell us anything to read these pages. Three services still see something about your visit.
Google Analytics
Every page carries Google Analytics 4, property G-CV0G08Y9MJ. It records which pages you open and in what order, roughly where you are from your network address, your device and browser, the site or search that sent you, how far you scroll, which outward links you click, and any file you download. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise the same visit across pages. The information goes to Google, which processes it on our behalf.
We use it to learn which projects people actually read and where they lose interest. It tells us nothing about you as a named person, and we make no attempt to identify anyone from it.
Vercel
The site is hosted by Vercel. Their servers log requests, including network addresses, in the ordinary course of delivering pages. We also run Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies.
Google Fonts
The typefaces load from Google's servers rather than ours, so your browser contacts Google on every page and your network address reaches them as part of that request.
What happens when you get in touch
The enquiry form
The form behind Start an enquiry on the contact page is built and hosted by Tally. Your answers reach Tally's servers first and are then passed to us. What we receive is whatever you chose to enter, which normally means your name, an email address, sometimes a phone number, and what you have told us about your project.
Email, phone, WhatsApp and Instagram
Writing to us, calling, messaging on WhatsApp or sending a direct message on Instagram leaves your details with us and with whoever runs that service. Our email is on Google Workspace. WhatsApp and Instagram are run by Meta under their own terms, which we do not control.
Portfolios
If you write to us about joining the studio, we keep your portfolio and covering note while we consider it and for a reasonable time afterwards in case something suitable comes up. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Why we hold any of it
- To reply to you, quote for work, and run a project once it starts.
- To keep the records a practice has to keep, including correspondence about work we have done.
- To understand which pages of this site are useful and which are not.
We do not sell your information, share it for anyone else's marketing, or use it to build a profile of you. Beyond the companies named on this page, nobody outside the studio sees it unless a law or a court requires it.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics cookies, which distinguish one visit from another and one visitor from another. Nothing on this site needs a cookie in order to work, so you can refuse them and lose nothing.
Your browser settings will block or delete them. Google also publishes a browser add-on that stops Analytics recording your visits to any site.
How long we keep it
- Analytics data is deleted by Google after 14 months.
- Enquiries and correspondence are kept while we are talking and afterwards as part of the studio's records, so that we can answer questions about work we have done.
- Portfolios are kept while we consider them, and deleted whenever you ask.
Where it goes
Google, Tally, Vercel and Meta all operate outside India, so information reaching them may be stored or processed in other countries. We have chosen established services rather than the cheapest ones, but their terms govern what they do with it, not ours.
What you can ask us to do
Write to ritiman@headednorth.studio and you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You do not need a reason and there is no charge. We will reply within a reasonable time and tell you what we have done.
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you these rights, along with the right to nominate someone to exercise them on your behalf. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, raise it with us first at the address above.
Children
This site is meant for people commissioning or working on buildings. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything about them.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no archive of earlier versions, so the page you are reading is the one that applies.
